TV Presenter and producer Philippa Forrester launched our new range of inspirational and educational products, featuring stunning images by award winning wildlife photographer Charlie Hamilton James, at the 2013 Country Living Spring Fair in London.
Charlie is one of this country’s leading wildlife photographers and cameramen, specializing in otters and kingfishers. He is a regular contributor to National Geographic Magazine and his TV credits include Africa, Springwatch, Life of Mammals, Wildlife on One, Halcyon River Dairies and the recent Natural World: Giant Otters of the Amazon.
The range, which is made in the UK, consists of luxurious feather filled cushions, cards, posters, postcards and a children’s range of crockery. The crockery set features the charming Monkey-lined Walking Tree Frog, nicknamed ‘Hop Frog’, images taken in Peru, together with facts including its name, where it lives and what it eats. It’s hoped that children with find the items fun but also educational. The range consists of a 23cm plate, a bowl, mug and eggcup.
The images featured on the range of cushions were taken by Charlie whilst on location in Africa, the Shetland Isles and nearer home in the British countryside. There are 6 square cushions featuring black and white images of an otter cub, deer, lion, cheetahs, zebra, deer leaping and a long cushion depicting an otter chasing a fish. The images are high quality, digitally printed onto 100% cotton with a soft linen/brushed cotton backing.
A set of 4 black and white cards depicting the lion, cheetahs, zebras and otter cub are available individually or as a set. The cards are made from 50% recycled card, vegetable-based inks, alcohol-free printing with 100% recycled envelopes. Two cards with Walking Tree Frogs are also available. On the reverse of all cards is a short paragraph explaining where Charlie was when the image was taken.
We will be expanding our selection of prints to buy very soon, which include ‘Cheetahs Mirror’, which won runner up at the 2012 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards and has been on display at the Natural History Museum. Posters of ‘Cheetahs Mirror’ and the Monkey-lined Walking Tree Frog are currently available.
